Middle school, or about 12 years old, is usually the age a student can start to play brass instruments. Students can start earlier, in some instances, with consultation from a teacher

Band rehearsal is not practice time.  Lessons at Southern Park are designed to allow students to reach their true potential. Regular, daily practice (outside of school) on the assigned materials is necessary in order to improve. However, we would be happy to work on band music with your son or daughter during the lesson.

Music & Arts with various locations in the Charlotte area has an excellent “rent to own” program.  You may even switch to a different instrument throughout your contract.

We do offer Chamber Music Ensembles for small groups.

Yes, Southern Park will provide an accompanist for the recital, dress rehearsal, and one private rehearsal.  The student may contract privately with an accompanist for additional rehearsals.
